I survived the apocalypse, I guess I have to clean now...

Every time I think of this last round of the world is ending crazy, I think of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and I giggle. And, then I think oh poo, it's time to start cleaning.

I wasn't really putting off cleaning the house or getting organized because of the apocalypse, but since it didn't happen and I'm still here, I guess I have to get with it. I have some goals for the new year, I have decided to boycott the word resolutions, it sounds snooty, or maybe it's because I haven't ever followed through with one, I don't know, but I like the way the word "goal" sounds.

Plus, if I make it through one, I can yell soccer-announcer-guy style -
goooooooooooooooooooooooooooal. Doesn't that just sound like more fun?

I have a motto for the year also. I haven't ever had one of those before, and I don't know if will continue the tradition, but I have one. I found it one on a blog and it was one of the first things I doodled this year.
One of my other goals for this year is #projectlife365 using Instagram, because I am kind of freak about taking pictures with my camera phone as it is. It's also another way for me to be creative.

I am also going to try to make more of what I need this year, so there will be some disasters (okay, lots of them) and probably some tears, but here's the deal (for me). I am getting tired of spending money on stuff I only kind of like because I couldn't find what I really wanted, so the solution seemed simple to me, make it myself! I am not saying I am going to make all my stuff, because frankly I wouldn't make it, but I am going to try and save money where I can by reusing or finding other ways to use stuff that I am not so fond of, to make something I will love. I am also hoping this focus is going to help me de-clutter, because frankly, if I am making alot of what I have I won't feel as compelled to go buy another shirt, because I don't like the color of the one I have. It sounds great in my head anyway.

I am also starting to get ready to have some of my photography in a local gallery in April. It's freaking me out, but I think it's time to take the plunge and get out there. I may even have a solo show later in the year (but I'm trying not to think about how THAT freaks me out).

So, there's some of what I will be up to this year. What are your plans?

I've actually read several blog posts the past couple days hating the word "resolution" and loving the word "goals". Funny.
