Wandering in the desert is an interesting thing. There is more color variation than I used to think, but even cooler than that, is all the texture. You have to get up close to really see it, but I love it. And, if you are lucky, you might find a nice burst of color too.
My favorite days in the desert are the cloudy ones; the sun's shifting highlights things I normally might not notice.
Although I still dream about the ocean I am enjoying my adventures here.
