My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Okay, I don't think we have to rehash how much I love this book do we? Shauna writes in a very easy manner, with so much love and joy that I just can't take it anymore. =)

Oh, I'll be reading this book again and again. The recipes sprinkled throughout are amazing, and I am working my way through them, but even more amazing is to hear words that ring so true about the struggles I had with my own health for so many years only to recently discover that I need to avoid the gluten, put down the bread and run the other way.

But, truly as Shauna expresses, nothing has been better for my life and I don't miss the bread, how could I miss something that makes me sick!? And there is a whole world out there full of amazing food that I would probably have never tried if I hadn't finally discovered what my body had been trying to tell me forever.

Even if you aren't on a gluten-free diet, I bet you know someone who is. Regardless, it is an amazing story of learning to live life wide open, finding love and enjoying amazing food. Read it! =)

I always cringe when I hear the phrase "gluten free." My past experiences with gluten free bread have left me gagging and wishing I could get my last 5 minutes back..

I will, however, give that book a go because I feel for those with gluten allergies -they miss out on so much!!

I so understand the feeling and the pain of bread that tastes like dirt and one bite makes you want to gag.

I think you will really enjoy the tone and the joy of the book.

My own experience, perhaps because I stumbled upon gluten free girl's blog early has been relatively painless. I have avoided most of the nasty breads on warnings from other friends who are dealing with issues with gluten.

There's a link to the author's blog. It will a. give you a taste of her style (which I adore) and b. you can browse through recipes and see how different much of her baking is.

Right now, she is going through this whole new world of baking without xanthan or guar gum (which I think taste vile) and is discovering bread that looks and from what I hear (I haven't had time to play with the recipes) tastes fabulous!

Best of luck with your search for yummy bread - I don't actually crave it anymore, but occasionally I really want toast.

I hear commercially that UDI has some yummy stuff out there. I haven not personally tried any, I prefer to make my own for alot of reasons.

I did I just try their pizza crusts and was happily surprised that they were so tasty.

Thanks for stopping by too! Hope to see more of you! =)
