And the book goes - Brisingr (Christopher Paolini)

I must admit it took me a couple of tries to get going on this, the 3rd in what is now no longer a trilogy (eeeek! flashbacks of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series!). I finally decided the only way to get past the slow part was to sit down and power through, which is what I did yesterday.

It definitely started very slow for me and while I didn't like it as much as the previous two books, there were some very interesting developments. It felt much more like a character book, rather than the adventure I had been hoping for. Admittedly, there was action (they are at war after all), but most of the book was more focused on the characters and their relationships. And, while that was interesting and confirmed some of my thoughts from reading the previous books, I really wanted some action and really, really had been hoping to find an author that would actually stick to their trilogy... oh well.

If you like the previous two, you'll likely enjoy this one. Do keep reading when it feels like it isn't going anywhere, it does get more interesting.

I wasn't really happy with this book. Especially after looking forward with anticipation to the wrapping up of the trilogy. I'm still not pleased about the late announcing of the continuation AND the lack of announcing of when to expect the next installment.

Today, a completely random thought post. Including a completely random photo that has nothing to do with what I am saying. I just like to have pictures in my posts, I think it makes them pretty...=) The wind has finally died down and I am really looking forward to a walk tonight after my second to last ever math class! Have I mentioned that I am excited to be done with the class!?! No, well I am! The professor is one of those people who thinks he is funny, but really is not. He is also one of those people who thinks jokes make the class more fun, but has not the timing for such a thing. As a result, the class is primarily uncomfortable and full of awkward silences. Zeitgeist and the month of December…

makes I am planning to blog through the month of December, you know one of those blog everyday kind of clubs.  I like the idea of them a lot – though I’m not promising anything spectacular, because I tend to get sidetracked a lot, but I am planning to blog at least a little. I wasn’t even going to bother attempting another one of these things – the dismal failures and the guilt, the added stress from the guilt, who needs it really!?! I suppose if I actually made it all the way through I’d feel pretty awesome but it’s all good. Actually, what most excited me about this blog all the month thing was the theme – Zeitgeist – isn’t that just one of the coolest words ever?
